Mozart’s Requiem: A Community Choral Concert

Free to the community, this special concert event features the Wausau Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daniel Larson, and a full choir of local voices performing Mozart’s dramatic choral masterpiece, made famous in modern popular culture from the 1984 Oscar-winning movie Amadeus. Mozart composed the piece in 1791, but did not complete the work before his death. In his final days, Mozart came to believe he was writing the Requiem for his own funeral, pouring his creative genius into what is considered one of the most stirring and awe-inspiring classical choral works ever written.

Entry is free, but advance ticket reservations are strongly recommended. No group/bulk orders over 10 allowed in advance. To avoid lines before the show, we encourage patrons to pick up their tickets in advance during our regular business hours.

A limited number of tickets may be available for walk-ups just before showtime. Inquire at the will-call ticket desk in the Great Hall.

This free concert is presented by the Chester L. Suski Arts Fund, and organized by Karla Westcott, Daniel Larson and William Day.
